Welcome to Thyatira Presbyterian!
For more than 260 years, Thyatira Presbyterian Church at Millbridge has carried on the tradition of the early church at Thyatira in Asia Minor by practicing the same virtues of “love, faith, service, and patient endurance.” Led by the Spirit, and by the grace of God, we have followed the same Jesus who urged our ancestors in the faith to “hold fast to what you have until I come.”
Through the years, Thyatira has shared the gifts it has received, and passed on the faith to generation after generation. In its cemetery are buried nearly three centuries worth of the area’s most notable citizens (and a few pirates too!). Our pre-Civil War sanctuary and well-kept museum testify to the hardworking and faithful spirit of the community.
But Thyatira is more than just a historic church. It is a vital and active fellowship of compassionate and committed people who continue to make a significant impact in the world, from Rowan County to as far away as Mwandi, Zambia. In countless ways, Thyatira is not a relic of a bygone era, but a living legacy of love, faith, service, and patient endurance that continues to change lives.
We invite you to come and experience the joy of being a part of this historic yet forward-looking community of faith.
